2021 Beckstoffer zum Kalon Vineyard RBS

$2,200.00

Tasting Notes

A cool vintage overall, the picking windows for 2019 were very long, which gave us the luxury of harvesting each different vineyard block at the perfect level of ripeness. The moment
we pressed the grapes, we knew this wine was heading toward greatness. It’s exhibiting remarkable freshness that perfectly balances its flavour concentration and compares to the exceptional 2001/2002 vintages for tannins and acidity. Wonderfully enjoyable at release but will also be an ideal addition to your cellar for many years to come.

Vineyard Notes

The Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, located in Northwest St. Helena, boasts a viticultural lineage of more than 150 years, dating back to the 1840s when it was planted by Edward Bale.
The name translates from Spanish to “the stones,” which aptly describes the soil composition of the vineyard. The high concentration of rocks and pebbles allows for easy drainage and
causes the roots of the vines to grow deep in search of water and nutrients. The gravelly terrain shows through in the wine, imparting an elegant minerality that sings its way through a dense structure of lush black and blue fruit, a signature of this distinctive estate.

Awards & Accolades

99 Pts. "Almost pure perfection in a glass, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard comes from a more rocky vineyard located on the west side of St. Helena. Black fruits, savory herbs, flowers, and crushed rock notes give way to a full-bodied, flawlessly balanced, seamless 2019. It has the ripe yet elegant style of the vintage (as well as the vineyard), ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a gorgeous finish."
